CHIROPRACTIC CARE Q & A

What is Chiropractic Care?
Chiropractic care is a natural approach to healing that focuses on the bio-mechanical function(alignment, flexibility and strength) of the spine.   The spine is critical in the proper functioning of the whole body, and this means that many problems like back pain, neck pain, and headaches can often be traced to an imbalance or irregularity in the spine. Dr. Linder will diagnose spinal bio-mechanical  problems and then provide effective solutions that require no drugs or invasive therapy. Spinal adjustments and other chiropractic techniques can gently and naturally relieve pain and problems by balancing the spine.

What Does a Chiropractic Exam Include?
NY First Chiropratic uses the latest and most advanced tools to measure all aspects of spinal function. Exams are customized based on the individual patient and their specific needs.

In addition to a hands-on exam, other diagnostic techniques may include:

  • Digital postural analysis
  • Digital range of motion
  • Functional movement screen
  • X-Ray if necessary

What is Digital Postural Analysis?
This type of screening helps identify areas of poor alignment and helps track progress with before/after pictures and analysis.  Poor alignment or posture places  excessive stress on some vertebrae and excessive demand on some muscles causing tightness, inflammation, pain, and premature degeneration.   We use this information to identify mechanical alignement faults that need to be fixed.

What is a Functional Movement Screening?
This type of screening helps identify poor body mechanics that may be placing excess stress on the body’s joints and tissues. A functional movement screening looks for the type of limitations and irregularities that can cause imbalances and may, therefore, lead to serious movement issues. We use this information to identify mechanical movement faults that need to be fixed.  This test can further help Dr. Linder identify which specific exercises may be most helpful in the healing process.
